  • 2026-2027 Change in Income Appeal

  • This appeal may be submitted if you, your spouse, and/or parent(s) have experienced a significant reduction in income since the 2024 tax year. For requests related to other income adjustments or circumstance changes, use the Special Circumstances Appeal form.

  • Fill out every section of this appeal and attach all required documents. Incomplete appeals will not be reviewed. Submitting this appeal does not guarantee your award will be changed or increased. Please allow up to four weeks for review and processing. Check your BMCC student email for any requests for information and updates.

  • A. Income Year to be Reviewed: Check applicable year based on date you're submitting the appeal*

  • B. On a separate page, write a detailed explanation of the events that affected your or your family's financial situation for the 12-month period you selected above. Be sure to include specific dates.

  • C. Required Documentation:
    1. Copy of the applicable 2025 or 2026 IRS Tax Return Transcript(s) AND
    2. Copy of 2025 or 2026 IRS Wage and Income Transcript(s) for all applicable household members, even if taxes were not required to be filed
    ➢ Start at irs.gov, "Get your tax records and transcripts" to find your tax transcripts
    ➢ For Dependent students, both documents listed above needed for student & parent(s).
    ➢ For Independent students, both documents listed above needed for student & spouse (if applicable)
